Finding a class in high school is about as easy as finding a needle in a haystack. As soon as I got to school I thought, “I shouldn’t have watched all the T.V. shows about the students who get lost on the first day.” To say the least, I was nervous, and wasn’t being very optimistic.
I was a scared little freshman and it was really hard. With all the people crowding the hall, I couldn’t find anyone I knew to save my life. Finally after wandering around for a while, I decided to make an attempt at finding my locker. I wasn’t sure how easy it would be especially because every locker was identical to another. I started power walking down the hall and stopped when I found it. After I got it open, I heard someone yell “Chloe!” I turned and looked around, and still didn’t see anyone I knew so I just took out my schedule and started the search for my first hour.
Person after person kept passing me, and some looked like they could be twenty-five. I had to look at my map multiple times before I was positive what room to go in. My classroom came into view, and that is when I realized I was on the wrong side of the hall. It appeared to be impossible, so I had to take a minute and figure out how and when to get through. I was a deer stuck in a traffic jam, and no one was stopping as I weaved my way across the hall to my class. A few times, I almost got knocked over. Luckily, by the time I got across, I still had all my supplies.
When I walked into the classroom, I felt a tinge of relief go through my body. I recognized the desks and chairs from prior school years. I glanced at a seating chart, and took my seat. I glanced around the room at the familiar faces and people I knew and said to myself, “The next four years are going to be easy as pie.”
